| NARRATOR: A message from
National Right to Life. WOMAN: Honey, you remember how President
Bush urged the Senate to pass the Brownback bill, to ban the cloning
of human embryos? Well, now Senator Hatch has come out against the
bill.
MAN: I saw that. [brightly] But Hatch says its okay! Because these
cloned embryos are created using just an egg and a body cell, like a
skin cell.
WOMAN: But that’s exactly how they create a clone of ANY species!
All the cloned sheep, cows, cats started that way . . . but now we’re
talking about humans!
MAN: Yeah. [perks up] But Hatch says its okay, because these cloned
embryos have no chance of actually being born!
WOMAN: But that’s because these biotech firms plan to KILL them in
their experiments! And Hatch’s bill would actually require the
labs to make sure that every human embryo dies!
MAN. Yeah . . . but honey, Hatch says we MUST do this to find
cures.
WOMAN: But President Bush, Senator Bennett, every Utah congressman
support the Brownback bill. And, the only doctor in the Senate, Bill
Frist! They all know that research can advance without allowing what
President Bush called human "embryo farms"!
If we start creating human lives just to harvest them like crops .
